Admission Process
I sent an inquiry and within 24 hours I received a phone call from an enrollment counselor answering any questions I had which I did not have any. I just wanted to get information that I could read first and ask questions later. The first email I received is the “steps to apply” where you receive a link with the application (request a fee waiver). Once this is completed you will gain access to the enrollment portal to upload documents such as;
Transcripts : Official Transcripts so you have to reach out to your previous institution pay for them and have them mailed to the school.
Pre Reqs : You must have a combined minimum GPA of 2.5 in the required nursing sciences (Anatomy/Physiology I w/lab, Anatomy/Physiology II w/lab, and Microbiology w/lab). There are a lot of prerequisites you can take on study.com or sophia.com because they are cheaper to take through them vs WGU.
Professional Resume
TEAS at the time I enrolled but currently only accepting HESI score
Letter of Intent : 1-2 page student statement detailing your exposure to nursing and explaining why you want to become an RN.
Recommendation Letter : One professional letter of recommendation from an employer
Healthcare Certifications or Licenses : even though they request this, they do not issue credit. Having these credentials does not accelerate the program. So I am not really sure why they require this
After all of these documents are reviewed and accepted you have to wait for a transcript evaluation to see what all they will accept.
